Yesterday, I finished the first draft of And War Followed Behind Her.
I think I'm going to be changing the name of it since there's not really much war in the book, but it's still the same concept, Katrina, Akta, Kimberley, and Julia Freeman work to stop Ragnarok with the help of Charlie, and Aziolith, and a bunch of the characters you meet in the other four books.
Since this happens just 200 years after the Apocalypse, there is no Godschurch in this one, or Rebecca Lobdell, since she's not born for another 9,800 years, but if I ever get to do a sixth book, I will be adding both of them into it and setting the action during the time of Rebecca Lobdell.
I have a big conference the rest of this week, so I won't be back to this before next week, but next week I'm hoping to finish the second draft of the, and have it to my editor before the end of the month.
My process is garbage draft, then three drafts, and then off to the editor for two passes, and then off to a proofreader for another pass. Then, into your hands.
My editor still has two books of mine in queue before this one, so it will still be a few months before I get this one back, but I'm hoping to have it by June-ish to include it in the next novel Kickstarter around that time, assuming I keep on this pace. If not, I have four books that I will be launching around then which are fantasy and SF, but not in the Godsverse. They are still some of my favorite books I've ever written, though.
The first draft clocked in at 69,000 words, but I'm trying to beef it up to 90,000 words. If I can't get it there, I'm going to include a short story in the back so it will be at least 90,000 like the previous entries in the universe.
Right now it's a mess of words, but the first draft done, and that's the hardest part. Now, I just have to link everything together and make sure it makes sense in the next few drafts. I have about 20,000 words to work with to beef it up, so I'm pretty confident that we're going to have a great book by the end, that has tons of twists and turns, along with giving you an awesome story involving all your favorite characters.
I'll keep you updated on the production of this one. As for shipping, you should have received, or at least begun receiving your packages.

I've been packing all afternoon, and hopefully I'll be able to finish these up tonight and get them shipped out tomorrow.
